Outriders reddit6/13/2023 I just would like to sum up that, CliffyB, you think you can make a Gears mutation that has Destiny/Anthem competition? It feels like gears. Sure, I don't own it, more or less, its like a lease. Free? Well, with GamePass on the Xbox (not the PC, which I should have but more on that another time) lets me play without paying $60. Ok, I should not complain/whine/salt/bitch/moan about a game that I downloaded (~65GB) for free. I googled, "Outriders sucks" and found this r/outriders. I would also like to add that I saw this post: ĭestiny is x100 better than Outriders. I would need several pages describing all that is wrong with it. There is A LOT of stuff wrong with this game, and I played it for maybe 20 minutes. I'm actually tired of writing at this point. I know that's a generic comment, but it just doesn't feel unique. Actually, why does most of the game feel so lifeless? The running, the shooting, the looting, the abilities - everything. Instant turn-off.Īlso, why does the running feel so weird? It feels so technical and lifeless. Why? So you can force me to WALK in front of a horde of "hyena"-like creatures and then WALK right back? No, fuck that. You even 'unlock' the ability at one small section - and then you lock it again. Why are you literally limiting my ability to sprint when I, as a player, KNOW that you can sprint in this game. Furthermore, the whole prologue just annoys me. Not only should they not be there but they wouldn't be necessary if your keybindings weren't so counter-intuitive. But then to add to that, this patronizing tutorial that presumes you've never played any game before "hold E to interact", "press SHIFT to sprint", "press CTRL to take cover" etc. I know this is a pet peeve of mine, but who the fuck binds jumping/vaulting to CTRL? And then for the cover system to use SPACE? Should it not be reversed? Why are you going against years of muscle memory which depict that SPACE is for jumping and CTRL is for hiding/crouching. What about the gameplay - the most important aspect of any game. Nothing that is said stands out in particular and just follows the simple trope of "uhhr, I miss earth", so I just skip the dialogue because it's not worth listening to. When I first receive control of my character on humanity's new home planet, Epoch, I am met with dialogue after dialogue after dialogue. This game does nothing new and fail to implement even the most standard gameplay features properly. This demo disappointed me in the first 5-10 minutes, and then kept doing so until I uninstalled it.
